One of the industry’s most prestigious award, MacConnell recognizes a comprehensive planning process that results in educational facilities that serve the community, enhances the educational program, and meets multiples goals. School facilities recognized in this award program exemplify characteristics founded in an interactive process that engaged multiple stakeholders to create an educational environment that holds purpose and distinction within a community.

The Marine Science Magnet High School was recognized for excellence from a wide-ranging field of domestic and international entries. The project’s unusual stakeholder process engagement process, innovative planning, functional adaptability and support of learning were among the qualities that led the project to stand out among a field of highly competitive entries.
