JCJ served as Architect of Record and Interior Designer of Record, collaborating with Rockwell Group and Tao Group to bring the acclaimed Beauty & Essex restaurant and lounge concept to Mohegan Sun. Known for its theatrical entrance, unexpected discoveries, and eclectic sophistication, the brand transforms dining into an immersive experience that unfolds through a series of distinctive spaces.

Located within Mohegan Sun’s Casino of the Sky, the venue blends vintage character with contemporary glamour. The experience begins in a curated, modern-ay pawn shop featuring vintage jewelry, custom musical instruments, one-of-a-kind art, and other collectible treasures selected by Lauren Kaminsky, known as “Gold Girl.” This unexpected point of entry sets the stage for a progression of richly layered interiors inspired by the delicate yet glamorous details of jewelry.

Beyond the pawn shop, guests discover the Jewelry Box, an intimate arrival experience, followed by the Pearl Lounge and Bar, the Peacock Dining Room, and the Locket Private Dining Room. Upholstered walls, antique details, expressive finishes, and atmospheric lighting create distinct yet cohesive environments, balancing intimate gathering spaces with the energy of a vibrant dining destination. The result is a compelling fusion of architecture, interiors, and hospitality that brings Beauty & Essex’s signature sense of discovery to Mohegan Sun.
