Ji-yong Sung NCIDQ, IIDA, LEED AP

Design Principal,

back to people

Ji-yong Sung, NCIDQ, IIDA, LEED AP is a Design Principal and design leader with 35 years of experience planning and designing projects across the gaming, hospitality, hotel, mixed-use and entertainment markets. Approaching each project with curiosity, careful observation and quiet discipline, Ji-yong brings his full commitment to the planning and design process.

Educated in South Korea, Ji-yong came to the US in 1998 as part of a multi-project cooperative exchange between JCJ Architecture and the firm of JAD. An accomplished artist and thoughtful design practitioner, he quickly took his place as team leader of the collaborative venture; in 1999 he made the decision to join JCJ in a full time role as Senior Designer.

Rather than imposing a signature style, Ji-yong seeks design solutions that are authentic to each client, place and experience. He looks broadly for inspiration and has a remarkable ability to synthesize diverse influences, translating them into thoughtful, measured and elegantly expressed design solutions. He holds the trust placed in him by clients in the highest regard and approaches every project with humility, care and a deep respect for the collaborative process.

Ji-yong earned a Bachelor of Architecture through Hong-Ik University in Korea and has been certified through the National Council for Interior Design Qualifications.
