JCJ developed a conceptual design for the expansion and reconfiguration of the Aztec Recreation Center to accommodate a growing student population and meet increasing demand for recreation, fitness and wellness programs. The design explored opportunities to transform the existing facility into a modern, inclusive campus destination while introducing a new outdoor plaza that strengthens connections between the recreation center and the surrounding campus.
The concept reflects the University’s vision for a modern recreation center that supports student wellness, encourages social connection and enhances campus life. Flexible recreation, fitness and gathering spaces were envisioned to create a vibrant destination that could evolve with the needs of students and the University’s growing residential community.
