Empire City Casino by MGM Resorts

Positioned between the urban energy of New York City and the natural landscape of the Hudson Valley, the design sought to establish a distinctive identity rooted in its Westchester setting. Green and neutral tones reminiscent of limestone, together with floating and terraced architectural forms, create a dynamic gateway to the property. A grand porte cochère, highlighted by the iconic MGM Resorts Lion, anchors the arrival experience.

The proposed redevelopment included the renovation and expansion of the existing gaming areas, an expansive high-limit lounge and a state-of-the-art BetMGM Sportsbook, along with new and renovated food and beverage venues. A new parking garage was planned to improve circulation and provide convenient access to the casino and its amenities.

A 5,000-person entertainment venue and accompanying meeting space formed another major component of the vision. Designed with advanced acoustics, dedicated amenities and flexible configurations, the venue was conceived to accommodate a range of entertainment, special events and community uses.

The master plan also addressed significant site and operational improvements, including enhanced vehicular access, stormwater management and expanded back-of-house and employee facilities. Together, these elements established a comprehensive framework for transforming the property while responding thoughtfully to its surrounding community and landscape.
