State of Connecticut Juvenile Courts & Detention Center, Hartford

Changes to this Juvenile Detention Center and Family Courts Facility consisted of renovation of 40,000 sf and a 50,000 sf addition that provides 88 secure beds and new program areas. The new facility is better equipped to meet the needs of residents and provides the appropriate environment for staff to provide effective rehabilitation services to youth.

After initial work was complete, a second phase converted existing space into courtroom, probation and social service functions. Increasing the overall size and functional effectiveness of the Center provides employees with more flexible and functional workspaces. The new Center has helped to boost morale and create a positive and constructive environment for both the juveniles and employees.
