JCJ Architecture provided concept design services for the Pamunkey Tribe to build the state of Virginia’s first casino.
In 2016, the Pamunkey Tribe received federal recognition in Virginia, becoming the first tribe in that state to be recognized. Now, the Pamunkey are seeking to secure land in Norfolk, Virginia to begin building a world-class casino resort.
The Pamunkey Indian Tribe is in negotiations with the city to purchase land around Harbor Park, VA. The proposed casino for the tribe is a $700 million-dollar project with a $200 million-dollar payroll that would generate an economic impact for the state of well over $1 billion.
The 20-acre property sits adjacent to the Norfolk shipyards, and is next to the Norfolk Harbor Park baseball stadium. The vision would provide guests with incredible views of the harbor, as well as the ballpark for those who wish to take in a game.
