Denise Raphael PhD, SHRM-SCP

Denise Raphael, PhD, SHRM-SCP serves in the role of Director of Human Resources. A highly experienced HR professional, Denise joined JCJ 2021 after having spent time in the healthcare industry and manufacturing sector. Denise’s portfolio of responsibilities includes employee relations, talent acquisition and retention, performance management, payroll and benefits administration, including ESOP administration. She brings a dynamic and results-oriented approach to the HR function and has worked across the organization to prioritize dialogue around the professional and personal development of our employee-owners.

Working across our organization and at the most senior levels of leadership, she plays a significant role in maintaining JCJ’s reputation as an employer of choice and in achieving our objectives around a more diverse, equitable and inclusive industry and workplace. Through Denise’s leadership, JCJ has been recognized by AIA CT over the last 4 years as a large firm making significant progress in increasing diversity and inclusion in their practice.

Denise earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Stonehill College and a Master of Arts in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at the University of New Haven. In 2023, she successfully completed her doctoral dissertation and earned her PhD in Business Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. In addition, Denise is a Senior Certified Professional with the Society of Human Resource Management.
