San Diego, California - June 26, 2015 – JCJ Architecture today announced the Dehua International Art Center, for which the firm designed all conceptual master plans, has received an Award of Merit for “Best International Site Plan” by PCBC at the 52nd Annual Gold Nugget Merit Awards. PCBC – Pacific Coast Builders Conference – hosts these awards at its annual conference in order to recognize community improvements through exceptional concepts in design, planning and development.
With its partner The LCW Group, JCJ master planned 9.7 million square feet of total building area on a 188 acre site for the prestigious project in China – encompassing a convention center, artists village, museum, international K-8 school, low and mid rise residential, retail and a variety of outdoor spaces. The City of Dehua is renowned for its translucent white porcelain that local artists have used to create devotional figures and sculptures since the Tang Dynasty – and this award signifies that JCJ’s design for the Dehua International Art Center authentically connects to history, culture and regional economic development objectives.
In addition to this project in China, JCJ has provided planning and design services to clients on international projects in South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Panama, Canada,, US Virgin Island, Mexico and Aruba.
