JCJ Helps the Ronald McDonald House Connect with the AEC Community

JCJ and the AEC Community help children in need by participating in the annual Tables for Tots event.

JCJ Architecture and the AEC community are having a direct impact on the well-being of critically ill children and their families by participating in the annual Tables for Tots event hosted by the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego. Every year, Architectural and Design firms are given an unfinished child’s table and two chairs to design an “adventure” for children. The table and chairs are then auctioned off at the event in August, with all of the money raised at the auction given directly to the Ronald McDonald House of San Diego. Over the past six years, Tables for Tots has raised nearly $200,000 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. This year’s event will take place on August 27 at the Westfield UTC in San Diego, CA.

This event brings together the entire San Diego A & D community with parents who share their heartfelt stories of the impact that our time and donations have given them over the days and months spent feeling the selfless support of Ronald McDonald house. These teams invest tremendous time, energy and care in order to transform these table based designs into something that any child would love to play with, in or on.

JCJ has continued to support the Ronald McDonald house over the past 7 years through generous sponsorships as well as the dedication of staff members to help in the Tables for Tot’s event. This year we are currently teaming up with Swinterton Builder’s once again to raise money to support this very worthy cause. JCJ is pleased to be part of creating a “home away from home” for the 1,500 families who stay with the Ronald McDonald house each year. By taking a very stressful situation and helping them to focus on what’s really important – healing together – we are making sure that moms and dads are able to stay by their child’s side to give those kisses and hugs around the clock. By taking care of the basics of life for these families – lodging, meals, sanctuary – we are keeping parents and children close during what may be the most difficult time they will ever face.
