Ballo Italian Restaurant

Ballo Italian Restaurant and Social Club is a 16,000 square foot dining venue located in the Casino of the Earth at Mohegan Sun Casino Resort in Uncasville, CT. The soaring and dramatic space was designed to mimic the 12th century, Gothic Abbey of San Galgano, located in the hills of Tuscany. “Ballo,” which means dance in Italian, is also home to one of the most innovative late-night environments at Mohegan Sun.

Upon entering Ballo, guests enjoy a massive wine list, specialty BALLO cocktails and freshly prepared Italian fare from the open pantry while sitting in a cathedral-like room replete with Italian fixtures, fabrics and dramatic lighting. Moving further into the restaurant, visitors can sit at the 30′ long carrera marble bar, or have dinner in the main dining area.

Arches, stone, sensual draperies and bold materials accent an exuberant dining experience. Ballo is a Three Star Certified Green Restaurant.

To achieve this rating on the Green Restaurant Association’s point system, Ballo offers several specialty elements including: a tap filtration system for water; recycling of glass, paper, aluminum, and cardboard; Energy Star qualified appliances; green building materials; proximity to public transportation and employee incentives to use public transportation; energy efficient lighting; recyclable paper towels and hand soap and menu paper. JCJ served as AOR in collaboration with Alvarez + Brock Design as Designer on this project.
