Reclaiming the Salvaged Armory

The Burlington Hilton Garden Inn hotel is a unique project that was the final piece in the redevelopment of an under-utilized city block in downtown Burlington.

A unique relationship of old and new, this project involves all aspects of Group One with the retrofitting of the existing 1906 Armory building to the main lobby of the hotel along with the addition of a new meeting room wing and guestroom tower. Exposing the bones of the armory building and highlighting these as part of the interior design we have created this contrast of raw and urban against newer elements that are warm and organic.

Playfully interlocking these elements, we have inspired fresh relationships as part of the exterior and interior design.
