Working along with the City of Fredonia, the Dunkirk-Sheridan Empire Zone and the Dunkirk Local Development Corporation, SUNY Fredonia developed a facility with the goal of promoting economic development, stimulating the creation of small technology-oriented businesses, attracting entrepreneurial faculty and providing a range of learning opportunities for students.

JCJ conducted extensive research and facilitated dialogue with the University’s planning committee, including the president, administrators, faculty and program directors. The result was a comprehensive program, budget and plan for implementation.

Strategically located on Central Avenue, the multi-story facility serves as a bridge between the City of Dunkirk’s downtown and the commercial waterfront. The Technology Incubator includes common meeting spaces and administrative assistance areas. Tenant spaces of various sizes were designed to accommodate a range of business types with minimal fit out in order to maximize flexibility and minimize initial startup costs.
