JCJ and Gideon Welles School take home two awards at CANstruction 2019

On May 9, 2019 teams competed in the AIA Connecticut CANstruction event at the Connecticut Food Bank and we are excited to announce that JCJ Architecture and Gideon Welles School, who have have participated in this event as a team for the past 12 years, have taken home two awards this year! Their “Wizard Of Oz” sculpture won, “The Best Use of Labels Award” as well as “The Best Original Design Award.”

Congrats to our JCJ team: Jordan Kazmierczak, Assoc. AIA, Justin Ewing, Daniel Thornton, AIA, CDT, LEED AP, Craig Moreau and Seema Malani.

CANstruction is a unique charity which hosts competitions, exhibitions and events showcasing colossal structures made out of full cans of food. After the structures are built, the cansculptures® go on display to the public as a giant art exhibition. At the end of the event, all food is donated to local hunger relief organizations.
