JCJ Architecture invites design oriented hands on Architects (Technical Architects) who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and technical skills to submit their resumes for a position in our LA office. Since its founding in Hartford in 1936, JCJ has expanded its practice to Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix and San Diego. The firm specializes in the design of K-12 Schools, Higher Education, Civic, Entertainment and Hospitality facilities. All of our offices collaborate as one unified practice while benefitting from the specialized experience of our thought leadership.

The Architect that JCJ seeks will have more than 8 years of experience managing Institutional and Hospitality projects in the K-12, Higher Education, Civic and F&B markets with budgets between $10 million and $100 million. Professional registration, or on the path, is required.
The Architect will be responsible to prepare designs and documents, from schematic through construction phase in accordance with JCJ Architecture and industry standards. The core responsibilities for the Architect may be summarized as follows:

Essential functions:
•Technical: Assemble data to complete drawings. Create and develop building design drawings. Assists in the development of presentation materials, drawings, or models. Provides technical knowledge through schematic, design development and construction documentation to promote the delivery of accurate, detailed and coordinated project documents. Provides team with insight on possible material and design choices that may be beneficial in design or cost to overall project. Understands how to use local and state building and fire codes and prepares Code Survey and Code Drawings for project. Performs construction administration tasks including shop drawing review, RFI’s, and document modifications.
•Communications: Maintains frequent communication with team. Provides document preparation timing/ schedules with staffing levels and is able to articulate needs to Project Team Leader.
•Coordination: Coordinates structural, electrical and mechanical drawings and specifications with architectural drawings and specifications. Meets with engineers as necessary and articulates the integration of the architecture and the engineering with the full A/E team, including specifications
Training Requirements:
•Revit v. 2017 above (required)
•AutoCAD v. 2017 or above
•3D software (3ds Max, Maxwell, SketchUp)
•Adobe Creative Suite (CS); Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
•MS Office Suite – Excel, Word, MS Project
•Preferred LEED accredited
•Willing to travel
