JCJ Architecture has completed 24 projects and has an additional 4 projects in progress at the Yale University School of Medicine. Current projects include the $1.5 million renovation to the 4th floor of the Clinic Building to house the research laboratories of the Department of Laboratory Medicine; a $900,000 renovation for the Department of Neuroscience, including a computational laboratory along with an electrophysiology laboratory; a new vivarium space at Yale’s West Campus along with smaller scale equipment room modifications and a new entrance lobby at the Building 31 and at the West Campus (the former Bayer Pharmaceuticals site.) The spaces fitted-out and renovated fall within a variety of building types and ages, the oldest of which dates to the 1930s. Many of the older structures present particular challenges in order to meet the environmental health and safety requirements required of modern labs. A creative approach to integrating mechanical systems while maintaining attractive and inviting work environments are hall marks of our design approach. With 16 years of uninterrupted service to the Yale University School of Medicine, we are one of the longest continuously serving architectural firms at the Medical School.
