HARTFORD, Conn., May 4, 2016 -- JCJ Architecture today announced it acquired Los Angeles-based Randall/Baylon Architects, Inc. (R/BA), a full-service planning, architecture and interior design firm. The combination establishes JCJ's presence in Los Angeles and supports the firm's continued focus on expanding its design and management capabilities across the western United States.

With nearly 35 years of experience, R/BA, is a recognized regional leader in the design of education, hospitality, commercial (including retail, health and medical) and residential building projects.

"R/BA has a superior reputation and proven track record in building strong client relationships," said Peter Stevens, President of JCJ Architecture. "With our continued growth as a national practice, R/BA's integration into JCJ will not only provide our current West Coast clients with greater access to forward-thinking design expertise, but also put JCJ on the ground in Los Angeles, an economically vibrant urban center with expanded opportunities for long-term growth."

R/BA's project portfolio perfectly complements JCJ's current market sectors and bolsters the firm's expertise in retail, health and residential projects. The firm's notable work includes Blue La Café, Simplethings Sandwich & Pie Shop, Keith Avenue Lofts and a significant number of projects for both the L.A. Unified School District and the University of Southern California. Hector Baylon and Donald Randall, co-owners of R/BA, will continue to lead the office's day-to-day operations and maintain their design and project management activities.

"Our mission has always been to bring clients' visions to life with character and thought, and we look forward to joining forces with JCJ, whose focus on forward-thinking design perfectly aligns with our approach," said Baylon.

The new office in downtown Los Angeles is located at 605 West Olympic Boulevard, Suite 840, and is JCJ's third in the Western U.S., joining offices in San Diego and Phoenix.
