Jim LaPosta is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects and JCJ’s Chief Architectural Officer. As CAO, Jim leads the firm’s design efforts and oversees all aspects of our architectural practice. Jim is an active participant in issues and events that shape architecture for learning, formerly serving as Chair of the American Institute of Architect's National Committee on Architecture for Education (AIA CAE). Jim's dedication to promoting innovation, professional values and service excellence is evidenced by JCJ's reputation as a national leader in public and private education facilities design, its focus on "experience-based" solutions, and record of more than 50 awards for design excellence. Jim has been a featured speaker at conferences such as the Society of College and University Planners, Council for Educational Facilities Planning International, National School Boards Association, and organized the AIA CAE's Global Perspectives on Pedagogy and the Built Environment Conference in Helsinki, Finland. Jim's work and approach to design has been covered by Fast Company, CNN, New York Times and Architectural Record. He is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and has been with JCJ since 1986.
