Richard Friedson is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects and has been recognized for his distinguished contributions as a design innovator and project collaborator. With over 40 years of experience, Richard Friedson has focused his career on programming, master planning, and designing facilities for colleges and universities. His projects have garnered numerous awards for design excellence, including a Citation in the P/A Awards from Progressive Architecture Magazine, an Honor Award from International Design (ID) Magazine for product design, and numerous local, state and national awards from the American Institute of Architects and American Planning Association. His work has been published in Aaron Betsky’s book, Violated Perfection, and in numerous design journals including Architecture, Progressive Architecture, Architectural Record, Architecture California, and others. In addition, many of his projects have been reviewed in the Los Angeles Times, San Diego Union-Tribune and other periodicals. A graduate of the University of Southern California, he has been a member of the JCJ team since 2011.
